Okinawa’s entertainment geography is entangled with beach tourism, Naha downtown speech (including Kokusai-dori’s commercial adjacency), and the distinct political history of bases and local urban form. Overseas writing often exoticizes “Okinawa nightlife” as resort atmosphere. JPGRL’s Districts approach insists on plurality and context — tourism strip, local kanrakugai form, and geopolitical urban history are not one souvenir. Naha’s Matsuyama-area speech is the Okinawa name that soapland lists most often treat as a district — under, not identical to, beach-tourism branding.
